White Witch Wand prop replica (Narnia Empress Jadis)
This is the official prop replica of the wand Queen Jadis (Tilda Swinton) uses in the 2005 Chronicles of Narnia movie, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
If someone has the ability to make replicas, do it. These things are stupidly overpriced on ebay and there's no reason something this amazing should be so exclusive.

Adult Gold 2023 (Comets кометы)
Переглядів 5469 місяців тому
First time I've stoned my own dress. It's fine I guess, but it didn't come out the way I wanted it to look at all. But I learned a lot of what to do and what not to do, so next dress will be better. Competed a bunch this year to see if it would help and the points did rise a little bit, but not drastically. So I'm just going to go back to focusing on testing and practicing for a long time. Ballerina/Figure Skater tries other styles of dance (jazz, lyrical, tap, Irish step)
Переглядів 68010 місяців тому
Summer 2023 - me trying out other styles of dance while ice rink is closed for repairs and ballet is out for summer vacation. Irish step is my favorite, but it is definitely the hardest. I started skating at age 26 (January 2017) and ballet at age 27 (Fall 2018). All of these other dance styles are brand-new to me and I only took classes this summer. I'm going to try to continue Irish step a li...
Adult Gold 2023 Showcase (Dracula's bride)

This is the first competition I've ever done a Showcase program. I'm trying to use Showcase to work on presentation and skating skills. This was a good run-thru at this competition, but I was rushing the entire thing a bit. I have another chance at it soon and I'm planning to just keep this showcase program for a long time and keep working on improving it. HISTORY: I started skating in January ...

well felt I should do an update since It's been quite some time. I'm still skating and dancing ballet and working hard even when I'm not posting anything for months and months. I've been trying to increase my skating skills, presentation, and pretty much everything on my program scores at competitions. Had a disaster skate at one competition followed by this fantastic skate at the last competit...
Do you truly appreciate how difficult Figure Skating is?

Feel like this should be required viewing for anyone who thinks skating is "easy" or has no clue and thinks they're going to end up at the Olympics someday. These are just various clips I've saved over the years and I rewatch periodically when I have people criticizing me really harshly for not being more advanced.... Or I have certain beginners acting like they just want someone to wave a fair...
2017-2022 Figure Skating Progress (Adult Pre-Bronze to Adult Gold)
Переглядів 1,8 тис.Рік тому
I won't be skating up in Interm-Novice any time soon. I'll definitely stay at Adult Gold until I have a CLEAN axel and decent double sal and double toe. Plus, spins, footwork, literally everything needs to be better. I'm just happy I get to call myself a "double gold medalist" and get the second stripe on my skating jacket!!! I started skating in January 2017 (age 26). I only did Learn-to-Skate...

Screwed up the footwork and the spiral really bad. But all of the jumps and spins happened at least. I had the skate of my life the day before when I did my Adult Gold FS test and actually passed!! But this competition the next day was much more my usual thing: sacrificing the footwork to make sure the jumps and spins succeed. Glad the test went so well, but I don't video it because that would ...
Adult Ballet - 4 Years of Progress! (2019-2022)

It's a pretty long video because I was trying to be thorough about tracking progress on footwork, turns, jumps, so if you make it all the way thru without getting bored, thank you! I do yearly progress videos for my own sanity. Otherwise, I feel like I'm not improving and will look ugly forever. I mean, I still look ugly, but not as ugly as Year 1, so it's something. Maybe by Year 10 I won't wa...
2017-2021 Spin Progress (Adult Pre-Bronze to Adult Gold)
Переглядів 1,4 тис.2 роки тому
I made this progress video to show how long it takes to improve in figure skating, even when you're as obsessive as me and practice at the rink almost every day of the week. This is why it takes about 10-12 years to look "really good" on the ice. I'm currently working on Novice MIF and trying to get my axel fully rotated so I can pass Adult Gold FS in the future. I've now reached the hardest te...

So this is like the cursed program that just couldn't get off the ground. No programs for 2 years because of lockdowns. This is the program that would have been performed a year ago if not for that. Then when it was finally time to do it, I was poisoned and couldn't skate in my normal competition event. Finally, finally got to skate it, but then it was a mess. I did a better run-thru in practic...

A wild hachishakusama has been spotted! lol I was rewatching some of my old vampire movies and about leapt out of my chair when I saw this. The Lady D fandom is what introduced me to the term "hachishakusama". I had no idea what that was back when I first watched Blood the Last Vampire (2009) many, many years ago. Always rewatch your old movies. Amazing what you can learn about them years later.

Your arms were flopping all over the place on those piques at the end. Definitely need to work on upper body posture before pointe. Take a break from pointe and work on fundamentals before getting back on pointe. Good luck

You need to do some strengthening exercises. These might help. Start out doing each, two to three times a week, and work your way up from there. ua-cam.com/video/InSSJMuBgT8/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/gM2nAZqikG8/v-deo.html m.ua-cam.com/video/QwgphBR9eOU/v-deo.html m.ua-cam.com/video/m6FplmaMgAI/v-deo.html m.ua-cam.com/video/6T2Rn9USvMo/v-deo.html&pp=ygUYa2F0aHJ5biBtb3JnYW4gYXJhYmVzcXVl m.ua-cam.com/video/1iYWpkRXu74/v-deo.html&pp=ygURTGF6eSBkc21jZXIga25lZXM%3D

Wow the comments section. I thought you progressed nicely but I have no idea about pointe work. I was just watching ballet progress videos because my 10 year old is in her 4th year of ballet. She still has another year to go before they consider if she's allowed to go on pointe. But I liked your progress.

Thank you! Yeah some people only want to see flaws and nothing good. As for your kid, her age will also play a role. They usually want kids to wait until around age 11 or so, just to make sure their footbones are developed enough for it to be safe, since growing bones are rather soft in really young kids.

This was a lovely video! It really shows the changes that have ocurred in figure skating over the years. I could not help but notice, however, the emphasis on jumps, beginning in the late 2010s. Figure skating is a beautiful sport. It is also beautiful art. Figure skaters should embrace both elements. Aloha 😊⛸️

It is contradictory to what Edea says on its website: The anatomical shape of the boot structure gives optimal lateral support, maintains the correct ankle/knee/hip alignment and allows a great frontal flexibility thanks to the tongue construction. Then the lateral movement side to side is not expected, in this case they explain that you can adjust them.

I am now learning beginner adult ballet and want to start here because that’s where most dancers begin, I always had a love for the creative arts (acting, theater, filmmaking, writing, dance, music) thanks for sharing your journey with us 🤗

Hello! It is so wonderful to see your progress. I understand the difficulties of dancing on point during the zoom times. I have been there myself. One thing I would say is, make sure to pointe your feet when you are doing pirouettes. I am very sure your teacher has told you this, but just because you are wearing pointe shoes, does not mean you dont need to pointe. I understand that when you only have 4-5 years of training this may be more challenging, but i will say it gets easier. Good luck and keep up the amazing work!

Just a note re: the illusion spin from the SkateGuard1 blog : "According to Dick Button, we have France's Jacqueline du Bief to thank for the accidental invention of the illusion spin in the early thirties. He recalled, "Jacqueline, on beginning the [camel] spin, lost control, regained it, then lost it again, and was finally able to stabilize her position. At first she felt she was doing a terrible spin; then she began to emphasize her flailing arms, making the lurching of her body appear quite intentional. When a judge later questioned her about her unorthodox movements, she looked him dead straight in the eye, replying in complete sincerity that she had invented it (she didn't say when) to fit her style of skating and that she called it a 'Now I Have It, Now I Don't' spin. It gained her points in the competition."

So nice to have such archives! What a beautiful sport. I miss it very much... (Note shure the moves @0:24-26 are waltz jumps, though..). And lots of people missing in the 70s-80s (the "modern dance" artistry of Toller Cranston should be brought back to memories, where's Scott Hamilton? Where's Katarina Witt?. Elizabeth Manley would do 5-6 illusions spins back to back with arms up (1988)..Midori Ito (first triple Axel), Kurt Browning (first quad toe), both in 1989, Brian Boitano's arm up lutz... Not so many pairs/dance, either. Their disciplines had drastic evolutions in the 80s-90s. The names of the skaters, if available, would be a great addition!
